Third Time at Carnegie Hall: Julija Bal Performs on May 7, 2024, During IBLA Foundation Tour

Julija Bal made her third appearance at the prestigious Carnegie Hall on May 7, 2024, as part of the IBLA Foundation's U.S. tour. Performing as a soloist, she showcased her own transcriptions of works by Heitor Villa-Lobos. In addition, she joined Maja Grujić, a member of the "Kamerna Rezonanca" ensemble, for a piano duo performance of pieces by Aram Khachaturian.
The Carnegie Hall concert was the grand finale of a three-week American tour, which included performances and masterclasses in Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, and New York.
Renowned critic Jeffrey James described the performance as follows: "Serbian piano duo Julija Bal and Maja Grujić presented strong, committed Khachaturian, yet subtle and nuanced with an expectedly fine contribution from Ibla veteran Bal, who also offered a marvelous and decidedly dark dance from Villa-Lobos. She gave the music a dramatic edge, through authoritative, precise and soulful playing."
