On December 4, 2024, pianist Julija Bal (Serbia) and cellist Ana Topalović (Austria-Serbia) performed an unusual concert titled Im Volkston in the Concert Hall of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad. For this unique performance, Ana Topalović played an electric cello, adding a contemporary twist to the classical repertoire.

The program featured compositions ranging from the Classical era to modern-day composers, with a common thread tying all the pieces together: they were inspired by folk melodies from countries around the world. The concert was an unconventional blend of tradition and innovation, showcasing the diverse musical influences that have shaped global musical heritage.

The event was supported by the City Administration for Culture, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and Matica Srpska.
